Frequently asked questions
What can I use door.lease for?
door.lease is launching first for iOS users and short-term rental turnovers, but it is built for any lease or rental agreement where condition documentation matters. You can use it for short-term stays, long-term rentals, student apartments, move-in, move-out, checkout, and maintenance records.
How do I document a property?
Add a property, then capture photos or video by room and area. The app helps organize the record so walls, floors, furniture, appliances, exterior spaces, and custom areas stay tied to the right part of the property.
What reports can I create?
You can create move-in reports, move-out reports, comparison reports, maintenance request records, and shareable condition summaries. Reports keep photos, notes, timestamps, and property context together in one place.
Can I share reports?
Yes. Reports are designed to be shareable so the right person can review the same photos, notes, and timestamps without digging through scattered messages.
How do I report a maintenance issue?
Start a maintenance request from the property, add photos, and describe the issue. AI helps draft the summary, priority, and next-step context. You can review and edit the request, then email the property contact instantly with the photos and property details included.
How does AI Coach help?
AI Coach helps you turn your own thoughts into a clearer message. It asks for the right context and helps prepare a more precise response when you need to explain a maintenance issue, damage charge, deposit claim, or report detail.
Which platform does door.lease focus on first?
door.lease focuses on iPhone rental condition documentation first. Use the download page for the current App Store path and platform details.
What happens to my photos?
Your photos are stored securely and remain tied to your account and property records. We do not sell your photos. Face detection helps identify faces so they can be blurred or redacted for privacy. Photos can be managed while a record is still in progress; once a room or inspection is locked, the photos stay attached to that condition record. You can still delete a property or delete your account to remove the associated records and media from active storage.
Why does the app need my location?
Location can be used as photo metadata to show where a photo was captured, and it can also help fill or confirm a property address when you use GPS, map, lookup, or pin features. Location is used only after you take an action and grant permission where required. The app does not track your location in the background.
Can I export my records?
Yes. Property records and reports can be exported or shared from the app when the feature is available for that record type.
How do I delete my account?
Go to Settings → Security in the app and select "Delete Account." Account deletion is permanent once processed and removes your properties, rooms, reports, photos, media, and personal information from active storage, except where limited retention is required for legal, security, fraud-prevention, tax, accounting, backup, or compliance reasons. This action cannot be undone.
Do you offer refunds?
Purchases are generally non-refundable. If you experience a technical issue that prevents you from using a purchased feature, contact us at [email protected] and we'll work to resolve it.
